Six colour swatches appear. Five are identical. One is slightly off. Tap the odd one out before you run out of attempts.

ΔE is the scientific unit for colour difference. ΔE 5 = obvious. ΔE 0.5 = nearly invisible. Lower means your eyes have to work much harder.

The science behind the game

WHAT IS ΔE?

ΔE (Delta E) is the scientific unit for how different two colours look to the human eye — not a camera, not a screen. Your actual eyes. The smaller the ΔE, the harder it is to tell them apart.

Spot the odd colour
Six swatches appear. Five are the same colour. One is a few shades off — sometimes obviously, sometimes nearly invisible. Tap the one that looks different.
STEP 02

Each round gets harder
Get it right and the ΔE gap shrinks. It goes from "clearly different" to "wait, are these actually the same?" You'll feel when it gets serious.
STEP 03

ΔE when you miss = your rank
Miss once and your ΔE at that point is your permanent score. Aim below ΔE 1.0 for professional colorist territory. Most players tap out around ΔE 3.0.
